Trying to Remember the Worst Days of Your Life
A personal exploratory short film I made in my Personal Filmmaking class in the Spring of '22, my final semester of college. The film, originally intended to be a retelling/reenactment of my memories in the days before the passing of my late best friend, ultimately became a meditation on grief, the passing of time, and the ways in which film as a medium can serve as a form of therapy.

Senior Thesis Experiment Video - Evan Robinson
In this video project (fully explained in the full essay linked below), I attempted to use the cubist technique of fragmentation to contribute to the discourse surrounding the relationship between film and reality. The video was curated and edited with as little artistic mediation as possible through the use of subjects who filmed and directed themselves, as well as editing choices dictated by a random number generator to emulate the randomness that governs reality and our universe more generally. This project was extremely engaging and difficult, in terms of the theory behind it, ultimately leading me to ask the question: is the pursuit of objectivity worth the abandonment of aesthetics?
